About Finlore
A small practice with a clear purpose
We built Finlore around one conviction: that most people make better financial decisions when they understand the context, not just the conclusion. Our work is about building that context thoughtfully.
Back to HomeOur Story
Founded on a simple observation
Finlore began in 2019 when its founders — both with backgrounds in finance and adult education — noticed a recurring gap. People arriving in Singapore with solid professional experience often found themselves uncertain about local financial structures. Investors with years of market exposure made decisions about instruments they didn't fully understand. Those going through major life changes had real financial questions but nowhere objective to ask them.
The response wasn't to build another advisory firm, or a course platform. It was to create a small, careful practice — one where the primary goal is that the person leaving each session understands their situation more clearly than when they arrived.
We are based in Capital Tower on Robinson Road, in the heart of Singapore's CBD. Most of our clients come to us through word of mouth, which tells us something about how they experience the work.
What guides us
Clarity before commitment
We don't think people should make significant financial decisions without understanding what they're deciding. Our work creates the conditions for genuine comprehension.
Independence from product sales
We do not sell financial products or earn commissions from referrals. The only thing we're paid for is the quality of the education we provide.
Respect for the person's pace
Financial decisions — especially those tied to major life events — carry emotional weight. We're patient, and we don't believe in applying pressure of any kind.

How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to
Educational, not advisory
Our programmes teach people to understand and evaluate — they do not direct people toward specific products or decisions. This keeps our perspective genuinely independent.
Privacy by default
Client information and session content are treated as confidential. We collect only what's necessary for the programme and never share personal data with third parties without consent.
Current, accurate content
Programme materials are reviewed and updated regularly to reflect changes in MAS guidelines, CPF policy, and relevant local legislation. We cite sources and encourage participants to verify independently.
Small cohorts, real dialogue
Group sessions are capped to enable genuine conversation. We believe people learn better when they can ask questions without hesitation, and that requires a certain intimacy in the room.
Feedback-driven improvement
Every programme concludes with a structured feedback process. We read every response and use it to refine content, pacing, and delivery for the next cohort.
Singapore-specific depth
Our programmes are grounded in Singapore's specific financial infrastructure — CPF, MAS regulations, local tax treatment, and the practicalities of the Singapore banking environment. Not generic templates adapted after the fact.
Financial education in Singapore's context
Singapore operates a distinct financial architecture — the CPF system, the Supplementary Retirement Scheme, MAS oversight of financial advisers, and a banking sector shaped by regional and international forces. For those new to living here, and for those encountering investment instruments for the first time, this architecture can feel opaque without a knowledgeable guide.
Finlore's programmes are built specifically for this environment. We don't import curricula from other jurisdictions and localise them superficially. The case studies, examples, regulatory references, and institutional context are all drawn from Singapore directly — making the learning immediately applicable rather than theoretically interesting.
Over the years since we opened, we have worked with clients from more than twenty countries who have settled in Singapore, professionals exploring investment products ahead of significant decisions, and individuals navigating personal transitions with financial dimensions. The common thread has been a preference for understanding over instruction — and that is precisely what we're here to provide.
Curious whether we might be the right fit?
The first conversation is informal and without obligation. We'd be happy to hear about your situation and share what we think would — or wouldn't — be helpful.
